Rachel England joined Business Law Advisors in 2017. She acts as outside general counsel to businesses in both Missouri and Kansas, ranging from small, family-owned businesses to national corporations. She has extensive experience in employment law, including employee rights, employee discipline and termination, personnel evaluation, and personnel training. Rachel has represented both employers and employees in discrimination claims, and she has achieved favorable outcomes for her clients. Rachel’s experience also includes legal and regulatory compliance, policy development, and contract negotiation. When businesses face legal issues, she works with leadership to identify and triage immediate risk areas, develop a clear plan of action, and implement practical and cost-effective solutions that will minimize future legal risk.
Rachel began her career as a civil litigator, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases, including consumer protection class actions, tort claims, and contract matters. In 2011, she joined an education law practice and had the opportunity to represent public school districts in both Missouri and Kansas. She defended school districts in lawsuits, prosecuted claims on behalf of school districts, and advised administrators and Board members.
Rachel is an adjunct professor at Johnson County Community College and teaches business law and legal research courses. Her favorite aspect of teaching is making the law accessible to her students and helping them to achieve their goals for their future. Rachel has two young children and enjoys taking them to the zoo, museums, parks, and all the wonderful destinations in Kansas City.
