Kate Giessel counsels clients on a wide range of business transactional and corporate matters, including entity formation, reorganization, and dissolution, governance and regulatory compliance, commercial real estate and leasing, risk mitigation, and complex business transactions. In her mid-market mergers and acquisitions practice, Kate represents both buyers and founder/owners with a client-focused and collaborative approach that provides family-owned and closely held businesses the practical guidance and tailored solutions they need to navigate transitions with confidence and clarity.

Kate’s legal career began on the East Coast, where she served as the Legal and Policy Fellow for National Farmers Union in Washington D.C. and worked with the Food Law and Policy Clinic at Harvard Law School before going in-house at GrowNYC, a leading environmental nonprofit in New York City. In her practice today, she continues to counsel nonprofit organizations on a variety of legal issues, including corporate structuring, board governance, policy drafting, fundraising, and government relations and contracting.

Kate enjoys spending time on her family’s farm in southwest Kansas, trying new KC restaurants with her husband, and cheering on the Jayhawks in Allen Fieldhouse.
